September Play! by Sephora Unboxing

Hello lovelies! Today we are digging through my September Play box. I know it has been awhile since I’ve shared what has come in my box. If you want to know what I got the last few months let me know and I can do a short post or Instagram story about them. Anyways, lets find out what is inside my box. So, opening up the box there is a hot pink satin bag that everything is in. It says ‘a change of face’. I like the metaphor Sephora; a change of face like the changing of seasons and temperature.

First up, we have the bonus item that comes in the box. I’m surprised to find a hair product and not a perfume. There is a shampoo and conditioner foil packets from IGK. It is their Hot Girls Shampoo and Conditioner. I don’t mind receiving packets of hair products if it’s a bonus item. If this was actually part of the box I would be bummed that I got a product that I would get maybe two uses out of it.

Next up is the Algenist Power Recharging Night Pressed Serum. It is a solid serum that can be applied all over the face(avoiding the eye area), neck and chest. It smells clean and slightly like coconut or cocoa butter, which I love the scent. I have a couple other night creams that are enough for my skin without additional products, so I will use this when it starts to get a lot colder and my skin is in need of extra treatment and moisture.

Next up there is the Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb. I have been wanting to try out this brand for awhile. I’m definitely looking forward to trying this out. I feel like this would be a great day time moisturizer for me. I feel like this could provide my skin with enough moisture but not make me oily throughout the day.

The last three items are makeup items. There is the Sephora Collection Contour Eye Pencil 12hr Wear Waterproof in Black Lace, Benefit Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel in Deep(5), and Urban Decay Vice Liquid Lipstick in Amulet.  The eyeliner is your typical black liner. The real test will be when I apply it to the water line, and see if it runs or smudges. The brow gel I’m curious about. I know that it is in the shade 5 and when I’ve looked at the other brow products by benefit in store, I feel like this shade may be to dark for me. I will test it out see how it will work for me. Last up is the liquid lipstick. I have one other liquid lipstick by Urban Decay, but it is a metallic finish. I’m curious as how the soft matte formula will work for me. I love the shade and is a great everyday type shade for fall.

That’s everything that came in my box. What did you get in your box? Did you get the same items? Or different items? What do you think about not having a perfume sample as your bonus item? If you want me to keep doing this kind of post let me know. Also, let me know if there is something specific you would like to see me do. That’s all for today. Have a great day! I’ll see you in my next post.

Life Happens…

Hello lovelies! I have missed you! I just wanted to hop on here real quick and let you know I’m still here. I had to take a step back from here for a few weeks for a number of things. Work became crazy and I was working more days then I usually am and the hours were different. This usually cut into time when I would normally be photographing. I also have had a few events, as once again, wedding season has begun.

During this break, I have decided to take a close look in to what I really want this blog to turn into. I love doing product reviews and unboxings. I would like to turn this into more of a lifestyle type blog. I would still like to share my thoughts on all things beauty, but I would like to dive more into my cooking adventures, health, daily life, and tv chats.  I want to know what you want to see from me. What have been your favorite and least favorite posts? What would improvements would you like to see? Please let me know! I would love to hear from you!

That’s all for now! I will see you all again soon! Have a great week!

April 2017 Favorites

Hello lovelies! It’s that time of month again. It’s time for monthly favorites! This month has been quite busy for me. I have been adjusting to a new routine and lifestyle. If you want to know more about that I’d be more than willing to do weekly or bi-weekly updates. Let me know in the comments below. Anyways, let’s jump into what I’ve been loving this last month. I have been loving the Real Techniques brushes. The first brush is the shader brush from the enhanced eye kit. I know this isn’t meant to be used for the crease, but for a quick one or two shadow look, I love this. I typically use this with soft brown from MAC(another favorite for the month) in the outer corner and in the crease for a quick look. Next, there is the setting brush. I love using this to set my concealer under my eyes, and also with highlighter on my cheek bones. The next brush is the expert face brush. I love the brush but haven’t quite figured out a way to use it for the best look. It works well for foundation and bronzer, but currently not the foundation I’m using. Last there is the stippling brush. I love, love, love using this for blush. This brush plus Nars Orgasm blush is an amazing combo. I am curious as how it would work with foundation and bronzer.

For my non-tool favorites, I have the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Treatment Concealer. All I can say about this concealer is that it provides the perfect amount of coverage for me, it brightens, and it lasts all day. The Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer in Eden has been a game changer for me and my eye shadow. This has made my shadows stay on all day long and little to no creasing. The only time I notice there is creasing is if it has been an extremely long and hot day. Next up we have a deluxe sample of the Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant Mascara. I have never used this mascara before this tube. I’ve had this in my stash for well over a year, and surprisingly it wasn’t expired. This gives a great lengthening effect and a tiny bit of volume. Going by the name I don’t think it lives up to it, but for an everyday mascara this is fantastic. The Nivea a kiss of mint and minerals is the never ending lip balm. I feel like I have been using this for over a year and there is still more product. The last beauty product is the MAC eye shadow in soft brown. This is the perfect shade to just throw in the crease and outer corner, a little mascara and out the door.

This last item is a makeup bag. It’s small and narrow that is perfect for putting your brushes in for traveling or on the go. I’m not sure where this bag is from because it came in a set that I got for Christmas three years ago.

That’s everything I’ve been loving during the month of April. I have been using all of these products just about every day during the past month. They have made my mornings so easy. What have you been loving? Is there anything new that I should test out. Let me know! Have a great weekend and I’ll see you in my next post.

Sephora VIB Sale Haul

Hello lovelies! Now that the big rush to get in store or online at Sephora, I thought I would share the items that I picked up during the sale. Before I headed out to the store, I asked my mom and sister if there was anything they wanted me to pick up. My sister didn’t need anything, and my mom I kept trying to rack her brain for stuff since her birthday and Mother’s Day is coming up. My mom picked out a couple of things and I also picked up one thing for her as well. Of course if I was picking up stuff for my mom, I had to get myself a couple of things too.

First lets take a look at the few items I picked up for my mom. My mom first picked out the Milk Makeup Holographic Stick in Supernova.  This choice surprised me. I kindly asked if she knew it was probably going to be a purpley holographic shade on the skin. She said she wanted to try it out and it looked cool and if she doesn’t like it, I can have it. All I can say is, GO MOM! She is far more adventurous with makeup than I am. Next up she chose the Clinique Quickliner for Eyes Intense in Intense Midnight. It is a deep almost navy blue. Like I said my mom is much more adventurous with makeup than I am. I know a navy blue isn’t exactly out there as far as liner goes. I actually think the deeper or mid toned blues are becoming more of a standard neutral like black or brown liner. My mom will also be receiving the Sephora Pomegranate eye mask. I have used the pomegranate and I think the rose eye mask as well. I love both of these and I think my mom will really like them. I think the Sephora Collection eye masks are great, they work and they are definitely affordable.

I know I am not alone when walking in to a Sephora, and feel overwhelmed. I knew I was for sure going to purchase a foundation. Last summer I got a sample of the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Coverage Foundation. I used it for a wedding that I was in and we took photos outside. I’ll admit I didn’t remove my makeup the night before and it still looked amazing the next morning! So I knew when I had the chance, I was going to pick it up. I got it in the shad Y305, which I think is the tiniest bit too dark for me but it works. The other item that wasn’t from the aisle of doom is the Dior Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss in the shade Tell Me Dior. I can say that I didn’t actually purchase this. This item is once again the result of bringing my boyfriend shopping with me. (This is the last time he is coming with me.) Next I picked up the Dr. Brandt pores no more pore refining primer. This primer is all over the YouTube scene. No matter what primer I use my pores show up so I’m hoping this will help make them look a little smaller or smoother. Lastly, is the Boscia MakeUp BreakUp-Cool Cleansing Oil. This is also one of those YouTube made me buy it items. I’m a slave to makeup removing wipes and I know those aren’t the greatest to remove makeup with consistently, so I decided to get the travel size and see how it works. The last item is a 100 point perk. It is the Dr. Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm SPF 45 in light to medium. I had a foil packet sample of this probably about a year ago and I loved what it did for my skin. I’m hoping if this works out again I just might have to pick it up for a quick out the door type product for the summer.

That’s all everybody. I hope you enjoyed taking a peak into what I picked during the Sephora Spring VIB Sale. I have given myself permission to shop Sephora only three times a year, during the two sales and during my birthday month. I know with my project pan I am on a no buy, but most of the time when I do shop, I shop on a deal. I hope you all have a wonderful week and I’ll see you in my next post.
