Huge Sephora Haul!!!

Hello lovelies! Welcome back! Today I’m sharing with you everything that I’ve picked up from Sephora over the last couple of months and also some things I received for Christmas. This is stuff that has been purchased over the course of two or three shopping trips. Let’s jump right and see what I picked up.

Let’s start with eyeshadow palettes. I’m almost ashamed to share the eye palettes that I’ve picked up. Not because of what I picked up but the number of palettes that I purchased. First there is the Make Up For Ever Lustrous Shadow Palette. I picked this up because the red/cranberry shades. Next I picked up the Becca Apres Ski Glow Collection Eye Lights Palette. This palette I purchased by accident. I thought that this was a highlight palette and not an eye palette. It does look pretty and I think I will be keeping this. Next I got the ColourPop Take Me Home Eye Shadow Palette. I thought this would be a great travel option. Next I picked up the Smashbox Dawn In. Decked Out. Shadow + Highlighting Kit. I picked this up purely because I have been wanting the pearl highlight palette and I wanted to try out the cover shot eye shadows. I also picked up the Anastasia Prism Eye Shadow Palette. The colors in this palette were unique and I don’t have anything like this. There is also the ColourPop Golden State of Mind that I picked up. The last two items are the Stila Eye for Elegance Liquid Eye Shadow Set and the L’Oreal Telescopic mascara in Carbon Black. The Stila set, I had my eye on just about the entire holiday season and when I saw it in store, I knew that I needed it. The L’Oreal Telescopic mascara, clearly isn’t from Sephora, but I picked it up based on the fact that I have been hearing about it for years and was never able to find it in store. I just happened to come across this last tube on the shelf at my local Target and grabbed it.

I also picked up a few face items, that strangely focus on contouring, bronzing, and highlighting. The other thing that they have in common is that they are all made by Tarte. I first picked up the Pro Glow To Go. I thought that this would be perfect for traveling. I also picked up the Park Ave Princess Chisel Palette, and the Limited-Edition Goddess Glow Highlighter. Both items had my eye on for quite some time. I know the chisel palette is relatively new but every time I saw it I would put it in my cart and then take it out again.

Next up I purchased a couple of skincare items. I repurchased the smaller size of the Glamglow Supermud Clearing treatment. Also by Glamglow I picked up the Gravitymud Firming treatment to try out. As 100 point perks, I chose my favorite cleanser by Philosophy the Purity made simple, and by Sunday Riley Good Genes.

Now if you’ve seen my makeup collection posts or even my declutter posts, you’ll know that I have more than enough lip products. As you can tell I stocked up lip balm. I get these as a gift just about every year from a family friend. I think I haven’t bought any lip balm in at least four or five years. I received three of my favorite silk & shine, a conditioning lip serum, two ultra-rich hydration dual-layer balm, dual pack of medicated lip ointment, and two deep renewal lip balms.  Two more drugstore finds that I picked up. The first is the Revlon Kiss Plumping Lip Creme in Nude Honey. I haven’t seen anyone talk about this or review, so I’m intrigued to see how this will work. The next item is the Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner in Red Diva. I picked this up because of the next item. My boyfriend gave me the Dior Rouge Dior Lipstick in 999 Matte, which is a classic red. The last lip products that I picked up from Sephora is the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified Lip Set. This was one of their holiday lip sets they came out with this year, and I’ve been really wanting to try out their liquid lips.

This last group of products are items that I received for Christmas. I got Gilmore Girls: A Year in Review. Gilmore Girls has a special place in my heart, and when I came across this in Best Buy, my boyfriend picked it up for me. I also received a makeup organizer with gold trim, an Apple TV, and not pictured because I don’t know where I placed it was Chrissy Teigen’s Cravings cookbook. As you can see I had a huge haul this time around and it made me hit the Rouge level, so I received the 56.5 mini brush.

Whew! If you’re still reading, you’ve reached the end. Thank you for staying with me during the long post. This was a huge haul and I’m excited to dig in and really start using everything. If you want to see a review or a first impression, or in a look, let me know! I’m always taking suggestions, and would love to hear from you. That’s everything. I hope that you all have a wonderful week and I’ll see you in my next post.

2017 Empties: Makeup, Nails and a Few Randoms

Hello lovelies! Welcome come back to the final installment of my 2017 empties! I really enjoyed seeing everything that I’ve used up in the last year. I know a lot of the items that I’ve used up over the course of the year have been sample sizes. Many of them I’ve received them in my monthly Sephora Play box. I don’t know about you, but this girl is on a super strict budget and not able to buy the full sizes of many of these products. There have been a few that I absolutely fell in love with and did go out and purchased the full size. Before I continue rambling on and on, lets jump in the makeup and random bits that I’ve used up in 2017.

I used up three primers this year. First one is the Benefit Porefessional primer. When I first started to use this it blurred my pores and made my foundation and skin look amazing. After a little while, either my skin changed or it just didn’t like working with the foundations that I was using. It consistently made it look like my foundation and nose was peeling. It looked dry and patchy and just stopped working for me. The next two primers are by Hourglass. The first one being the Hourglass Veil Mineral primer. I love, love love this! I purchased this and wish that there was a size between this and the full size. I would purchase that in between size, but the largest size I feel would go bad by the time I would be able to use it all. The other primer is the Ambient Light Correcting Primer in Mood Light. I really liked this primer, I am still on the fence as to whether or not I would repurchase this. It made my skin look nice and radiant, but I’m not sure it is worth the money.

I used up five mascaras. I used up a sample of the Benefit They’re Real mascara and the Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant Lash mascara. They’re Real I liked, this would be close to my holy grail status, but I think I can find something better for me. The Smoky Extravagant Lash, I really liked, but this constantly got all over my cheek and my lid when applying. The next mascara is the CoverGirl The Super Sizer mascara. This is easily a YouTube made me buy it item. I have a love-hate relationship with this item. I liked the mascara but there was just way too much product on the brush. The brush is super tiny and the mascara would get all over the place. I want to like this as a whole but the brush really made it difficult to. The last two mascaras I just did not like and definitely would not repurchase. They are the Maybelline The Falsies Pushup Drama mascara and the L’Oreal Voluminous Superstar mascara. The Maybelline mascara I just did not like at all. It didn’t do much for my lashes and I think the formula was a little too heavy for my lashes. The L’Oreal mascara, I liked without the first step. I think if they sold it as just a plain mascara and not a 2-step product, I would consider repurchasing this.

The last two makeup items which are both holy grail status items for me are the Maybelline Brow Drama in 100 Deep Brown and the Urban Decay All-Nighter makeup setting spray. You’ve seen both of these in some of my monthly favorites. I love both of these items. I have repurchased both of them, and will probably continue to repurchase them forever.

The last group of items that I’ve used up or decluttered, some have already repurchased and some just won’t be purchased again. The items that I will not be repurchasing are the E.L.F. lip scrub and OPI nail polish in the shade shown. I forgot to write down the name of the shade and I’ve already thrown it out. I also won’t be repurchasing the OPI base coat or the E.L.F. face brush. The base coat didn’t do much to help make my nail polish left. The E.L.F. brush just didn’t work well with multiple products, it is however, very soft and if it didn’t fall apart on me and actually work, I would definitely repurchase this brush. I also think that I wouldn’t repurchase the Nivea lip balm. I liked it but I have my holy grail won’t use any other lip balm for the rest of my life, and I have about 10 backups of those.

These products are the ones that I will repurchase over and over again, and will remain in my collection for a long time. First up is the Neutrogena oil-free eye makeup remover, love this and will repurchase this again and again. I also really like the Red Carpet Brilliance gel coat. This is a declutter item. The brush somehow split and the polish got too thick for it to even use. My holy grail toner, probably will never try out another one, actually never say never, but you get the point The Tea Tree Toner Water. I love, love, love this. I’ve probably have purchased at least 5 bottles of this since I started using this. Last but not least is probably my biggest standout item of 2017. It is the Bumble and Bumble Don’t Blow It hairstyler. This has helped me get my hair back to its natural state. Ever since I’ve started using this and stopped straightening my hair and blow drying it, my hair hasn’t been better. I originally got a sample of this in a Sephora Play box, and I ordered the full size during the VIB Sale.

That’s everything! I hope you enjoyed this series. I mentioned at the beginning of this post that many of the items throughout this series are samples or deluxe sample sizes, but fear not! I have a huge haul post coming soon! I’ve been wanting to dive into everything that I purchased, and with the exception for one item, I haven’t touched any of the items. When I mean huge haul, there may be more than 3 eye palettes in there too. I hope you all have had a great start to your 2018. Have a great week!

2017 Empties: Skincare

Hello lovelies! Happy 2018! I know I fell off close to the end of Blogmas, but as every holiday season things became incredibly busy and I felt that I needed to spend time with my family instead of holed up in my room working. I’m back and it’s time to share my empties for most of 2017. I know I had planned on doing one of these posts about quarterly, but I think in the new year I will do it whenever my bin fills up with stuff.  Also to keep this post from getting ridiculously long, I’m going to break it up into categories. Today I’m sharing my skincare type empties and whether or not I will repurchase.

MAKEUP REMOVERS

I got a couple of samples of the RMS beauty makeup remover wipe. What it is is a makeup remover wipe that is made up with certified organic coconut oil. The cloth is soft and doesn’t irritate or drag on the skin, and it smells amazing! This takes off makeup including waterproof mascara. When I feel the need to splurge on makeup wipes, I will definitely be purchasing these.

I used up 3 of the Up & Up brand from Target makeup remover wipes. The first 2 packs I enjoyed the third package, I wasn’t blown away by. They say that they are comparable to the Neutrogena makeup wipes. I personally think it is worth the extra couple of bucks on the Neutrogena wipes. They work much better than the Up & Up brand. The Up & Up ones work in a pinch but I feel the need to scrub my face a little harder, which many of us do not want to do.

The last two makeup remover type products are the Philosophy Purity made simple one-step facial cleansing cloths. I’ve talked about these before. I love them! I love using these after the gym to “wash” my face. I definitely will re-purchase these when I use up the other package that I have. Then there is the Sephora Waterproof eye makeup remover. I love this! I have another deluxe sample size that I’ll be using up, and will definitely repurchase.

EYE CREAMS/TREATMENTS

I used up 6 sample packets of the Lancome eye correction creme. I didn’t like this. It was too heavy and had glitter, that I could see after I put my makeup on. It also gave me those tiny, white milia bumps in my under eye area. This also made my eyes water, if I used too much. Another one that I will not be purchasing is the Caudalie Resveratrol Lift eye lifting balm. I liked this, but it irritated my eyes and I would have to wait at least a half hour to put makeup on to let my eyes stop watering.

The next set of eye products are ones that I love and absolutely will repurchase. The Fresh Rose hydrating eye gel cream. I love this a tiny bit goes a very long way. My under eye concealer goes on so nicely and smoothly, definitely will purchase the full size. Next up is the Clinique pep-start eye cream. I’ve had this in my favorites before, and I absolutely love this for a daily morning eye cream. Will definitely purchase. Lastly, the Sephora collection eye masks, more specifically the Pomegranate eye mask. I love these and have repurchased a bunch of them.

CLEANSERS/MOISTURIZERS

The first two items I wasn’t a fan of and just didn’t do much for me. The Korres Greek Yoghurt Advanced Nourshing Sleeping Facial. The scent is too much for me, and just too heavy for my skin. Next up is the Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet. The scent I didn’t like and it just didn’t do much for my skin.

Next up there is the Amorepacific Essential Creme Fluid and the Moisture Bound. I liked them but I probably wouldn’t repurchase them. Also, items I probably won’t repurchase is the Mary Kay botanical effects step 2 hydrate, and the Erborian Bamboo Creme Frappe. The Erborian is a good product but I just probably wouldn’t repurchase.

I really liked the Lancome Smoothing & Glow Boosting Liquid Care. I really liked this it was light and moisturizing; will repurchase. The Youth to the People Kale & Spinach Green Tea Hylauronic Acid moisture creme. I love this! I was blown away by this and will definitely will repurchase. Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation facial creme. I love this and will definitely repurchase. I used this back to back with the Kale & Spinach and I felt that I had fantastic skin months! I will repurhcase!

Last two items in this category is the Simple moisturizing facial wash and the First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser with Red Clay. I love both of these cleansers and I will repurchase when I’ve used up a few other cleansers that I have.

MASKS/TREATMENTS

The first product that I was just surprised and blown away by is the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair. I used this in the middle of the summer when my skin was consistently oily and I was sweating. This just did wonders for my skin the few times I was able to use this. When I’m able to I will be purchasing the full size of this. Next up is the Mary Kay acne treatment gel. I use this on any blemishes that I may get, and it helps get rid of even my toughest cystic acne. I’ve purchased so many of these tubes, this will probably always be in my skincare arsenal. Then we have the Clarins Mission Perfection Serum, which is a dark spot corrector. I feel like this somewhat worked for me but I feel like I need to use it more consistently and longer in order to really see the results. I won’t be repurchasing this.

For masks, I’ve used up the Karuna Clarifying face mask. I didn’t see much of a difference which is hard to tell with a one time use sheet mask. I would consider repurchasing this mask and try it out again. Lastly I have used up the travel size of the Glamglow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate and the full size of the Supermud Clearing Treatment. I enjoyed both of these, however I wouldn’t repurchase the Tinglexfoliate mask, it slightly irritated my skin and I just didn’t enjoy the tingling sensation. The Supermud Clearing Treatment I would definitely repurchase. It is definitely worth the hype and the $68 price tag.

That’s everything! All of the skin care that I’ve used up in the last 9 months or so. I hope you enjoyed this post. What products have you used up in the last year. Anything that you would repurchase or maybe not? I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Years. I hope that your 2018 is even better. Have a great day and I’ll see you in my next post.

October Play! by Sephora Unboxing

Hello lovelies! Today I’m sharing with you everything that came in my October Play box. This month’s theme is Complexion Companions. Everything that comes in this months box is supposed to give your skin a smooth, hydrated and evened out look. Just like every month there is the bonus perfume sample. When I first opened the box there is the little bag that everything comes in and it says Public Display of Complexion, which I thought was a cute play on words.

First there is the perfume. I received the Tory Burch Bel Azur. I was actually hoping to receive the Chanel Gabrielle in my box and a bit disappointed that I didn’t, but after smelling this, I am hooked. I’m interested in how this will wear on me throughout the day. It is very similar the the Replica Beachwalk, but less sunscreen smelling and much more warm and fresh. The Bel Azur is a fresh, slightly sweet and warm scent. It is the perfect transition perfume from summer to fall and even into winter. The price of this sample size would be about $8, with the rollerball being $30, the 1.7 oz is $96 and the 3.4 oz is $126.

Next up there is the Dr. Brandt Pore Dermabrasion pore perfecting exfoliator. I am excited to try this out. I have been having a peeling issue on my nose, that no matter what I do it will peel. I’ve also noticed that I have a bit of texture in a couple of places, so I’m hoping that this will help. If you were to purchase this little sample size it would cost about $7.50, the full size retails for $58.

The next product is the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Skin Booster. This is a serum that you can use before you use a primer or you can mix a tiny bit in to some of your thicker full coverage foundations to sheer out the coverage. I’m not sure if I’m going to like this. I feel like most of the time I am in a hurry and to add an extra step to my routine that already works for me. I will try it out and let you know how I get on with it. If this was an option to purchase this would sell for about $14, and the full size retails for $41.

We all know how important it is to prime our face so that our makeup will last all day. I received the Urban Decay optical Illusion Complexion Primer. I love trying out new primers. I feel like this could be a really good primer for me throughout the winter months. If any of you live in the Midwest or on the northern east coast, you’ll know how cold and dry the air can be. I feel like this could give my skin a little bit of added moisture and allow my makeup to look staying great all day. This size would retail for about $5. The full size retails for $34.

Next we have the Make Up For Ever Ultra Hd Invisible Cover foundation. I already know that I love this foundation, however, I have quite a hard time finding the right shade. I’ve bought the full size of this before and had to return it twice and still I do not have the right shade. The shade I currently own will work if I self tan, which is rare, or if I’m out in the sun a lot during the summer. In the meantime, I got a foundation I love in a new shade that I can try out. The shade that came in the box is Y245. So keep your fingers crossed that this shade works for me! This little sample size approximately costs $5. The full size retails for $43.

Last up is the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea 4-in-1 Setting Mist. I just have to say that Tarte has the cutest mini size packaging. I’m excited to try this out. I haven’t found any other setting spray that can beat out my Urban Decay All-Nighter setting spray. I’m very interested in how this will work and help pro-long the wear time of my makeup. This cute mini would retail for $3 if sold in stores, while the 1 oz retails for $12 and the 2.5 oz retails for $25.

That’s everything that came in my October Sephora Play box. Do you subscribe to Sephora Play? What did you get in your box this month? Did you love it or hate it? I hope you all enjoyed this post. Have a great, festive, and safe Halloween weekend! I will see you all in my next post!
