October Favorites

Welcome to my October favorites! October was a pretty busy month for me. I was very quick and simple with my routine. I have a few items that I want to share, that were easy to make myself feel a little more put together.

You’ve seen me mention the Revlon Nearly Naked foundation. It naturally evens out my skin tone, while it doesn’t always cover up blemishes or scars, I am happy with the coverage. It also doesn’t cake up or wear off throughout the day.

My Nars duo with Orgasm blush and Laguna bronzer, is by far my holy grail product. I have put quite a dent into Laguna, I’m about to hit pan. I am excited about that because I’ve never hit pan on anything before! Orgasm blush, I think looks great on everyone and for myself works for almost every occasion!

Now this next product isn’t part of my everyday quick look, but it has quickly become almost a staple for when I want to bump up my look just a bit. I’m talking about the Becca higlighter by Jaclyn Hill in Champagne Pop. I’ve used it as a highlighter and as an eye shadow. It is just the perfect all around color and multi-use product.

For a quick and easy lip option, I’m a big fan of lip glosses. I probably own more than one person needs to own all in a similar shade of a nude-ish pink. My two favorites this month are the NYX’s Butter Gloss in Creme Brulee, and Rimmel’s new Oh My Gloss! in 160 Stay My Rose. They are both very different. Creme Brulee is a creamy, lightly moisturizing and fairly opaque. I can easily put this on without a mirror and not worry about it ending up all over my face. The Rimmel, is still a newer product that I own. It is a on the sheer side, but I absolutely love this color!

The last two products have been game changers for me. The first is the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. While I have only used this a handful of times, I can tell that it definitely works. The biggest test with this was a friends wedding. My makeup looked almost perfect at the end of a long night of dancing. The second product is by Nailtiques. It is their oil therapy. It is a nail and cuticle oil. I’ll be the first to admit that I get lazy with putting lotion on my hands and taking care of my cuticles. With winter just around the corner, this has saved my nails and cuticles for the last year. Just after using it 2-3 times in one has transformed and improved my cuticles. This ranges between $9-$10, which for purchasing this well over a year ago, I think is a pretty good deal. I think If I were to use this a couple of times a day, everyday I would probably purchase two bottles a year. I don’t know about you but $20 a year for great and healthy cuticles is pretty darn good. An additional plus is that it smells great too!

Those are my October favorites. I hope that you enjoyed today’s post. What have you been loving? Please share!! Have a great weekend!!

NYC Showtime Mascara Review

The last week or so I have been putting NYC’s Showtime mascara to the test. I picked up the waterproof and volumizing formula, in 844 Extreme Black. It claims to “immediately thickens lashes up to 5 times, last all day and easy to remove.”

My first impression was that there was hardly any product on the wand. It is definitely a very dry formula. While it’s a drier formula it is creamy. Not much product comes out on the wand and it does not clump. The claims that is thickens lashes, I believe is false. This product is a very good natural, every day mascara. I would say it is also good and inexpensive option for a young girl just getting into makeup.

Does this product live up to the claims on the package? No.

Target Haul!!

Hi all! Over the weekend I went to Target because I had a coupon for Neutrogena makeup remover products. Since I was there, I took a walk through the rest of the cosmetic and skincare department. On this trip, I wasn’t looking for anything specific. I did have a few coupons that if I did find something in the right shade or color that I will actually use then I can save a bit of money at the same time.

The Merona hat is black with silver thread in a chevron type pattern. The number one reason that I picked this hat up, besides it almost winter here, is the last hat I bought doesn’t fit my head! I tried this hat on and it fits over my head and my ears, and doesn’t move! Plus, there is extra room at the top of the hat where if for some reason that my head gets bigger(haha), it should fit.

The rest of the items I will quickly go through, otherwise this post will end up longer than intended. CoverGirl Clump Crusher mascara. I’ve hear probably every single blogger and YouTuber sing its praises and I thought it’s time to pick it up. *Warning: I have about 5 mascaras I have yet to try.* Neutrogena oil-free eye makeup remover. I love this stuff. This bottle is actually for my sister, I am working through my third bottle of this currently. Up and Up acetone free nail polish remover. This one is pretty self explanatory. This girl loves her nail polish and sometimes it needs to be taken off. Last, but not least is the L’Oreal Voluminous Superstar Mascara. **If you get the Sunday paper, from October 25th I believe, there  is a $3 off coupon any L’Oreal Superstar mascara.** This mascara intrigued me and I can’t wait to try it out!

Have you stopped by Target? CVS? Walgreens? What have you picked up lately?  Is there something that I need to pick up? Have a great hump day!

Halloween Look

Hi all! Today I’m sharing with you the look that I created for Halloween this past weekend. I wore a flapper costume that I had purchased for a show that I was in a few years ago. So I went on YouTube to see if I can find a look that was fairly simple and quick at the same time. My inspiration behind this look was taken from Jaclyn Hill’s Old Hollywood Glam tutorial. I used what products I had on hand, and went to town hoping that I can do a good enough job.

Let’s start from the “bottom” up. Starting with Primer. After I cleansed and moisturized my face, I used the Hourglass Mineral Veil all over my face, excluding the T-zone. In my T-zone I used Benefit’s Porefessional.
