Hello lovelies! Today I’m sharing with you my options for the next couple of weeks. I’m no Van Gogh or anything and one of the items I used for the very first time, so it isn’t my best work. I dove into my nail polish collection and pulled out every shade that I would wear during this time of year. I wanted to give you as many options as I could and well… I came up with 10!

My Favorite Holiday Reds

Hello lovelies! Welcome to day 8 of Blogmas! Today I’m sharing with you my favorite Holiday shades of red.

First up are my two current favorite shirts for the season. A red plaid with a gold stripe button down shirt from the Ava and Viv line at Target. A shirt like this is great for a casual look paired with jeans and boots. The second shirt is a red berry toned sweater/sweatshirt for Lane Bryant. The pattern on the sleeves and front of the shirt is a brighter and shiny tone of the rest of the shirt. It can be dressed up with black pants and heeled boots or dressed down a bit with jeans and flats. For a third option you can pair it with a pair of black leggings and fuzzy socks for lounging around the house.

The rest of the items are my favorite. It’s a combination of lip products and nail polish, and one candle. We have:

Rimmel Show Off Lip Velvet Matte in Burning Lava

Flower Nail Polish in Budding Romance

Maybelline ColorSensational in Summer Sunset

Butter London Nail Polish in Saucy Jack

Bath and Body Works Candle in ‘Tis the Season

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Jet Set Red

Essie Nail Polish in Leading Lady

Nars Velvet Lip Pencil in Cruella

img_2247Those are all of my favorite holiday reds this year. Let me know if you liked this kind of post. I thought it was different and I haven’t really seen anyone do something like this. I wanted to try out something kind of new. I hope everyone’s week is going well and I will see you all in my next post.

Do You Wanna Build a Toilet Paper Snowman?

Hello lovelies! Today I’m sharing another toilet paper roll craft creation. Like my toilet paper Christmas tree, I found this idea on Pinterest. I chose to keep mine simple by using only a few items. You can use additional things like pipe cleaners, buttons, and pompoms to create your snowman. So, let’s jump right in.

img_2193Things you’ll need:

toilet paper rolls

scissors

glue

paint

paint brushes

colored paper

something to paint on

img_2196Step 1: Paint on 2 thin layers of white paint.

img_2198Step 2: Cut out your hat, nose, etc. and glue them to the roll.

img_2201Step 3: With a small detailed paint brush, paint on your eyes, mouth and buttons.

I chose to keep this simple because I think most people would have these items around the house. Not many people would have buttons, pipe cleaners, and pompoms on hand. I do know I have a difficult time finding pipe cleaners in store when I need them. Like the Christmas tree craft, I would recommend this craft good for children ages 5-10. The younger kids may need some assistance.

That is all for today. I hope everyone had a great start to their week. I’ll see you all in my next post!

Christmas Gift Ideas- What I Got Everyone for Christmas

Hello lovelies! I hope that you are all staying warm. Today I’m sharing what I got my friends and family for Christmas this year, and a few other ideas. Most of these are pretty budget friendly. I have a few items that are a little bit more expensive, but most of these are pretty affordable and won’t break the bank.

For my co-workers:

You can also add some hand lotion for the women or a little Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts gift card to this as well. I love this idea for coworkers or a small gift to keep on hand. Who doesn’t love a little chocolate, cold weather is the perfect time to burn a great smelling candle, and with winter comes chapped lips. I lose chapstick all the time, so giving one this time of the year is perfect!

For the men:

img_2189My brother is a huge Chicago Cubs fan. This Christmas, he asked to get him useful things. I know he loves his Keurig and while he said not to get anything Cubs related, I thought why not combine the two. A tumbler is a great gift or stocking stuffer for someone that is always on the run, it’s not just for the men! Another really good option for maybe a boyfriend or husband is cologne. My boyfriend currently has the Polo Black and I love how it smells on him. His bottle is almost finished and he mentioned awhile back that he really liked it and wanted another bottle.

TIP: Pay attention throughout the year! If you hear someone saying I really like this or I want this, maybe I’ll ask for it for my birthday, Christmas, etc. Make a mental note. Pick it up for them.

For the breakfast lover or foodie:

img_2191I love the pancake and syrup combo. This idea is a little bit of a wild card. I think that this is more of mom, aunt or uncle gift. It’s something different, looks a little special if it is packaged nicely. My idea behind this kind of gift is that it is unique

For friends, sisters, mom:

Water bottles, candles and mugs all make great gift ideas for a friend or a sister, even mom! For those ladies in your life that are more into beauty or skincare, this is where I suggest a little bit more, or where you will tend to spend a little bit more than you are planning. If you know a lovely gal that has been wanting to try out the Beauty Blender but they don’t see the point of spending $20 on a sponge, what a great time to get them a little treat! While I agree that the price is high, it has completely changed the way I apply makeup and absolutely love it! The same thing can be said for the GlamgGlow masks. They are a very pricey but to give it as a gift to one of the special ladies in your life is an extra special gift. It is also something that they may be considering getting or trying out but really wouldn’t treat themselves to it.

A few other gift suggestions:

  • makeup gift set
  • mug filled with everything to make a cup of hot cocoa
  • home-assembled manicure/pedicure kit
  • jewelry: I’m not talking about the expensive stuff, I’m talking about a cute dainty necklace, or a simple bracelet or earring and necklace set
  • sampler set; of anything! hot chocolates, hot sauce, seasonings, coffee, etc.

I hope that you enjoyed my gift ideas and found this post useful. I thoroughly enjoy this time of the year. The lights, snow, hot chocolate, and my favorite shopping for the perfect gift for my loved ones. Have a great week and I’ll see you in my next post!

Toilet Paper Christmas Tree

Hello lovelies! I bringing you today a little bit of a different post. When I first decided to include a few crafty type posts, I searched through Pinterest to see what easy-ish and kid friendly I can share with you. What caught my eye were all of the different options of toilet paper roll crafts. So today we are making toilet paper roll Christmas trees!

img_2170

Things you’ll need:

paint in green and any other colors you want your ornaments to be

paint brushes

3-5 toilet paper rolls

palette

something to paint on

Not pictured: paper towels, water to rinse off brushes, glue or something to put together the rolls, scissors, lastly, Christmas music or movie! Get in to the Christmas spirit!

img_2172

Step 1: Cut into roll about a 1/4 inch in, then cut around to get a shorter tube. Continue this until you get the size of tree you want. I chose to use 3 tubes.

img_2174 img_2175

img_2174 Step 2: Adhere the tubes together with glue. You can also poke holes in the tubes and use a string to tie them all together.

img_2180

Step 3: Start with one side of your tubes and paint a thin layer with your green paint. Let it dry for about 3 minutes and paint on a second coat.

img_2182

Step 4: After your green paint dries, grab your ornament colors. Use a small brush where the bristles are a little stiffer. You’ll be able to make “ornaments” by dotting the paint on. You won’t have to try and paint circles on. Tip: Use white paint to create a “popcorn” garland, or puffy paint to make it more 3D decor, or glitter to give it some sparkle. Add a little star to the top or a trunk to the bottom for a more tree-like look.

I would recommend this craft for kids 5-10 w/ parent or sibling assistance, or 11 and up. I say with assistance because cutting the rolls take a little bit of muscle. I chose this craft to do first because I think just about everyone has all if almost all of the supplies to complete this little project. The way that I cut the tubes, I had a little bit of a problem cutting them down evenly to the length I wanted.  Besides that, I think this is something everyone can easily do on a snow day or a family craft day.

I hope you enjoyed this post. If you liked this post please let me know! Anything else you want to see me try out and do? Hope you’re having a great week! See you in my next post.
