Covergirl Clump Crusher Review

Hi lovelies! Today I’m sharing my thoughts on the Covergirl Clump Crusher mascara. I know I’m way behind on this mascara. I’ve had this stashes away until I went through a couple other opened mascaras first. I purchased this in 800 very black and surprisingly, NOT in the water resistant formula.  First, let’s take a look at what the packaging claims that this product will do.

  • 20x volume
  • zero clumps
  • curved brush is supposed to cover the lashes with product
  • the fine tooth bristles are supposed to help distribute mascara evenly through the lashes

I love the green color of the tube, and the wand is the same color(until you put it in the mascara). I find the tube somewhat ergonomic, alongside the curved wand, makes it extremely easy to apply this mascara. Immediately I noticed that the formula is somewhat wet. I’ve noticed that when I first use a mascara that is kind of wet when I first open the tube, I love it even more when it dries out a little bit. The lasting power of this for day to day is pretty good. It will last all day with no flaking. However, I wore this on a pretty hot day and it did seem to sweat off a bit. That does seem like a down side to this but it gave my lashes a little oomph and a nice natural look.

I would slightly compare this to my favorite all time mascara, the Benefit They’re Real Mascara. While that is my all time favorite mascara it does tend to clump slightly on my lashes. It is also a bit over the top with the lengthening and volumizing for a day time and day to day wear for what I do. The Covergirl Clump Crusher is the little sister to the They’re Real. It is definitely great for day time wear.

Overall, I would say that this mascara does what it says. It is great for gals of all ages. It is great for day to day wear. It layers well. You can put a light layer for the office and layer it up for a night out. I would definitely recommend this mascara to friends and family.

Overall Rating: 8/10

Fall Lip Colors

Today I’m sharing with you some of my favorite fall lip colors. While I love the look of deep dark berries, reds, and purples, it tends to give me what I like to call the Snow White effect. I say that because my hair is dark, pale skin and light eyes. It isn’t my favorite look, but every once in awhile I change things up a bit. Anyways, on to my fall picks. From lightest to darkest:

NYC Showtime Mascara Review

The last week or so I have been putting NYC’s Showtime mascara to the test. I picked up the waterproof and volumizing formula, in 844 Extreme Black. It claims to “immediately thickens lashes up to 5 times, last all day and easy to remove.”

My first impression was that there was hardly any product on the wand. It is definitely a very dry formula. While it’s a drier formula it is creamy. Not much product comes out on the wand and it does not clump. The claims that is thickens lashes, I believe is false. This product is a very good natural, every day mascara. I would say it is also good and inexpensive option for a young girl just getting into makeup.

Does this product live up to the claims on the package? No.

Summer Empties!

We are now officially in the fall season! While I love the sunshine and warm weather, nothing beats the crisp fall air. Today I’m sharing with you quite a few things that I’ve used up over the course of the summer.

We have often heard the phrase that beauty is only skin deep. However, I believe it begins with what we put into our bodies. While the first set of items isn’t all that glamorous, it is an important part in many peoples lives. I’m talking about vitamins. I’m not a doctor, nor do I have any kind of medical background. Please consult a medical professional when adding something new to your regimen. Below are the few different varieties that I’ve tried out over the course of the last few months. My new favorite and flavor are the One A Day VitaCraves Chewy Bites in the Chocolate Brownie flavor. I’m currently finishing up my third bottle and will start my fourth bottle. I can not swallow pills and I find these a great chew-able option for me.

My next little group of empties is something that is all over the blog and YouTube universe. I’m talking about candles!! I have been obsessed with candles long before I discovered YouTube and blogging. In the last few months I have used up 5, yes 5 candles. I used up two Coconut Leaves, which I found the scent sweet, yet refreshing and not too over powering. I would definitely repurchase this candle again. Rainforest Sugarcane provided a light, refreshing scent to the room. I’m not sure if I will repurchase this one. It smelled nice but the scent was barely there. Pink Petal Tea Cake has a lovely floral scent. It was one of my favorites that I have burned in my bathroom. Last is the Georgia Peach candle. I LOVE THIS!!! This is by far my favorite scent. The scent just floated throughout the house. It was sweet and airy and not over powering. Great scent that can go from spring to summer to even fall!

Finally we have come to the beauty, skin and body empties. To keep this post from getting super long I’ll tell you whether I like each product and if I will repurchase it.

  1. Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Hand lotion- Love it! I already have a full size tube. Definitely will repurchase over and over again.
  2. Mary Kay Liquid Eyeliner in Black- It’s very black but it doesn’t last. I won’t be repurchasing this.
  3. Alba Hawaiian 3-in-1 clean towelettes- Love the smell. Worked to freshen up a bit. I won’t be repurchasing this.
  4. Up and Up Cleansing Towelettes- Love these! I already purchased another package.
  5. Bio true Contact Solution- Love it. Doesn’t irritate my eyes. Repurchased my 5th bottle!
  6. Clean and Clear Morning Burst(travel size)- Love this. Love the smell. Definitely will repurchase.
  7. L’Oreal Butterfly Mascara- My favorite drugstore mascara. I will repurchase after I use up some other mascaras that I have.
  8. Lush Tea Tree Toner Water- Love this stuff. This was my second bottle. It saved my skin two years ago. I already repurchased this!
  9. Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub- Love the scent and how it works. Already repurchased!
  10. Benefit Porefessional (samples)- Love this! I’m going more natural or no make up lately. I purchased the small travel size.
  11. Olay body lotion- love the scent. I have so many lotions right now I’ll wait to repurchase.
  12. Klorane Dry shampoo (travel size)- I bought this to try it out. I loved it! I will eventually repurchase the regular size as a treat.

I hope you all enjoy going through my trash. I’m thinking about doing posts like this, maybe seasonally? Let me know what you think! What have you used up? Is there something out there that I should try? Let me know! Also is anyone else having a hard time inserting photos into their posts? I can’t get any of the ones that go with this post to be uploaded. Thank you all for the help! Happy Monday!

August Favorites!

Today I am sharing with you my August favorites. These few items I have used constantly through out the month. For my birthday at the end of July, I received a Sephora gift card and I picked up a few items and haven’t put them down since!

Aug Faves2015

The Beauty Blender has by far been the greatest thing I picked up. I was previously using one that I got from Target. The Beauty Blender blows that one out of the water. I can’t believe I waited so long to get this. I apologize for it being dirty. I used it this morning totally forgetting I had to photograph it.

I don’t know about you girls, but liquid liner and winged out liner has always been difficult for me. I picked up the Kat Von D ink tattoo liner. I couldn’t be more impressed with it. It is a nice dark, matte black, and it stays all day!

The Revlon Nearly Naked foundation is something that I’ve talked about before on here, so I won’t go too in depth with it. It’s light and provides just enough coverage to smooth everything out.

The Benefit They’re Real Mascara, I think will always be a favorite of mine. Building this up provides a fantastic glam look. However in the past month I’ve managed to learn how to accentuate my lashes while keeping it as natural looking as possible.

Maybelline Master Brow Drama, I have used so much on my easy natural days. I love the way it just plump up my brows just a tiny bit and overall look put together.

Yes, I have included my Tide To-Go stick. This thing has saved me on more than one occasion. I was out eating lunch with my friend, and I was wearing a brand new shirt. I had a major eating fail. Now while it doesn’t immediately remove the stain which is not the sole purpose of this product but when I finally got home and was able to wash my shirt there was no more stain! Such a lifesaver!

My last favorite for the month is Butter London’s nail polish in Champers. I love, love, love this color!! Every time I took it off to change my color I just kept putting it back on. I have easily worn this for the last four or five weeks straight!

I hope that you enjoyed my favorites. I know I put them up a little late. As many of you know, life happens and tends to get in the way of certain things. Have a fabulous rest of the week!
