Beauty Blogger Tag

Hi all! I got super excited when I received a comment from Laura from Basically Anything, saying she nominated to do the Beauty Blogger Tag. I think that is a great idea for not only us as bloggers to interact but also for you our readers to get to know each other a little bit better.

The Rules are:

Come up with 10 questions of your own

Nominate other bloggers, and don’t forget to tell them!

  1. Who is you favourite fashion designer or make up person?- I don’t have a favorite designer or makeup artist. I typically go for what looks good on me and what is comfortable. I admire anyone that can pull off an amazing colorful eye look and can make the makeup look like a piece of art.
  2. If you could meet any celebrity, dead or alive, who would it be?- Dead, I would love to meet Frank Sinatra or Audrey Hepburn; Alive, would be Kate Hudson, Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood
  3. What beauty product can you not live without?- Mascara or lip balm
  4. Who/what inspires you the most?- There are so many wonderful things out in this world. The way that social media has expanded and with things like instagram, youtube, and the blogging community, finding inspiration is sometimes easy. Sometimes it is a quote someone has shared or a photo of flowers, there is beauty in this world and often it is found in the simplest thing.
  5. What’s your favourite clothing store?- Target, I know it is kind of a one stop shop for many things but some of my favorite pieces of clothing are from there.
  6. What is your job? and what do you want to do as a career?- I work as part of the front of house staff for a college. As a career, I would like to stay in the arts and/or running my own business.
  7. Got any hair tips?- Don’t wash everyday, brush gently, don’t tie your ponytails and buns too tight it causes breakage
  8. Top 3 youtubers? or Bloggers, if you don’t watch youtube- Tati from GlamLifeGuru, Jaclyn Hill, Emilynoel83, Casey Holmes, CoffeBreakwithDani; I know it was supposed to be 3 but I really love all of them.
  9.  Do you like matte or non matte lipstick better?- I love the look of matte lipsticks, but find them uncomfortable at times. I’m going to go with non-matte lipstick for more of a daily option.
  10. What’s your favourite colour?- Blue

The Wonderful World of Jamie

Hi all! These last few weeks have been incredibly busy. A couple of things that I have been super excited about is the new season of Dancing with the Stars beginning. I’ve been thinking of doing a roundup of my thoughts weekly of the show. We can talk makeup, costumes, dancing and of course my favorites of the week! Is that something you will all be interested in?

Another thing that I’ve been looking forward to is getting back to blogging consistently. I have quite a few things coming your way and I can’t wait to share everything with you. I’ve made a few life changes in the last couple of weeks and I’m looking forward to sharing my journey.

Last but not least, I have two friends whom are getting married in the next few months. These girls are such great friends and I couldn’t be happier to celebrate their special day. I will be sharing some behind the scenes of their planning as well as some beauty ideas, tips and tricks that I will be using for all of the fantastic events.

What have you all been up to? Are you looking forward to something fun, new or exciting? Let me know in the comments! Have a great weekend!!

Update!!!

Hi all!!! I know I have been missing the last couple of months. You have no idea how much I was bummed out about not blogging. I had so many fantastic ideas to share for the holidays and starting out the new year. I have taken the time to think about the direction of this blog and how I will be able to make it even better. I am still having some technology issues and am figuring out how to deal with that, so that I can provide quality and consistent posts. Over the course of the next month or so, there will be some updates. I hope that you all have been doing well! I will see you soon!

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25hr Foundation Review

Hi all! Today I’m sharing my thoughts on the Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 hour with Comfort Serum. It does have an SPF of 20. It is marketed as a full coverage, skin perfecting foundation. I purchased this in 091 Light Ivory. I couldn’t decide between this shade or the next shade up. The Light Ivory is still a little light for my skin, but since we are heading into the winter months it should work just fine.

The claims on this product is that it is long lasting, transfer proof, and full coverage for flawless looking skin. After testing this out for the last couple of weeks in a variety of situations and events. The longest I wore this was about 10 hours. It lasted that entire time. There were a couple of spots where it wore off a bit, which was to be expected, but it did last all day. I mentioned before that this was a little light for my skin tone, however by the end of the day it matches almost perfectly. Yes this does oxidize a bit but not so much that by the end of the day you look like an Oompa Loompa. I don’t believe anything is completely sweatproof, but this foundation comes pretty darn close.

I apply this with a beauty blender and it does thin out the formula a bit, so it becomes more of a medium coverage foundation, considering it wears well, I don’t mind. If I get to warm, it does start to feel little strange on the skin, but it still looks pretty good.

I would rate this foundation as an 8/10.

Have a great day!!

Nivea Lip Butter

Hi all! Today I’m bringing you a review on the Nivea Lip Butter in Smooth Kiss. This has been out for a couple of years now. I purchased mine from Walgreens well over a year ago. I had a coupon for $3 off two Nivea products. Walgreens also had a sale going on for Nivea lip products 2 for $5.

I used this every morning and evening before bed almost every single day. This kept my lips smooth and moisturized throughout the entire winter season. I didn’t have single day of dry chapped lips. The smooth kiss “flavor” is a neutral flavor. By neutral, I mean that there is no scent or flavor. In the morning I use a light layer. In the evening, I put a pretty thick layer on because there is much more time to allow it to sink in. The only con about this is that it comes in a tin that you have to use your finger to get it out.

I have a few other lip balms that I need to use up including this one, but I will definitely repurchasing this. Rating: 9/10
