2017 Empties: Hair and Body

Hello lovelies! Welcome back! Today I’m sharing the hair, body, and a few random empties that I’ve used up in the bulk of 2017. I will try not to get too into each product as why or why not I will or will not repurchase. If you want more in depth reviews on specific items, let me know! Let’s jump in!

First up there is the Aveeno Sensitively Smooth Shave Gel. I love this! I have repurchased many bottles. I like when I’m in a hurry I can shave my legs and I don’t necessarily have to put lotion on my legs after. It doesn’t dry out my skin, and I think that’s all I can say. Next I’ve used probably a few more than what is showing. These little eye brow shapers. I use this to dermaplane. If you don’t know what that is, I can do a more in depth post about it and my routine, when I do it.  The short version is to help remove any peach fuzz on my face and the area around my brows. Next I used up a sample of the Jack Black Double Header Shampoo & Conditioner. This was ok. I didn’t love but I didn’t not like it. I wouldn’t repurchase. The last two products are both by Aussie. The first is the 3-minute miracle deep conditioner. I love this, but I think I’m ready to move on and try something new. I think whenever I’m in a pinch, I’ll pick this up, but right now I’m looking to use something else. The next item is the sprunch spray. I liked this, and it smelled amazing, but for “sprunching” I didn’t think it held all that great. I wouldn’t repurchase this.

Next up I used up a Crest Whitening toothpaste in radiant mint. Love this and I’m currently using another bottle, but I think I’m going to use something a little bit more gentle on my teeth in the future.  I also used up an Oral-B satin floss. I love this floss! I have to stock up on this in case it ever gets discontinued. Next up is the Peach Bellini room spray from Bath and Body Works. Loved the scent, great for your room or even in the car as a refresher. Then I used up a travel size of the Exotic Coconut body wash. I loved this scent! I wish it would come back every summer. I have used other body washes, but I threw them out not thinking of saving them.

Last up, I used up the Up & Up non-acetone nail polish remover. I liked this, it’s nail polish remover. It takes off glitter fairly well. We all know glitter is a pain to remove, and I prefer not to use acetone based removers. The non-acetone even dries out my skin severely. Then I used up the big bottle of the Aveeno skin relief gentle scent lotion. I’ve mentioned this in favorites before. I love it, it absorbs into the skin well, and it helps my dry skin. The scent is amazing and I’ve repurchased another big bottle of this already.

That’s everything! I hope you enjoyed the second installment of my 2017 empties. I hope you all have a wonderful day and I’ll see you in my next post.

Project Pan Finale!!

Hello lovelies! So today I’m giving you the last update on my Project Pan. Let me get the bad news out of the way first. I did not reach my goal of finishing 10 out of the 15 products that I chose. I believe that I chose too many challenging items to try and complete in the time frame that I gave myself. On the other hand I think I balanced it out with enough products that I would be able or should have finished. Although I was not successful, I learned a lot about the way I use items. I am looking forward to do many more project pans. So let me go through everything.

Completely Finished

Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizer

It’s a 10 Leave-In Conditioner

Garnier Blackhead Eliminating Scrub

Blistex Silk & Shine

Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub in Tropical Mango

Almost Done

Buxom Full-On Lip Creme in White Russian

Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream

Nivea Lip Butter (Lost it)

Clarins Mission Perfection Serum

NYX Butter Gloss in Creme Brulee

Aussie Sprunch Spray

Nowhere Close to Being Finished

Matrix Silk Wonder Smoothing Oil

Marc Jacobs Dot

Aussie Heat Protecting Shine Spray

Smashbox Limitless Eyeliner in Onyx

That is everything! This brings my first Project Pan to a close. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. See you in my next post!

Project Pan Update #2

Hello lovelies! Today I am updating you on the products that I have been using as part of my very first project pan. I’m just going to say it…I am horrible at using the things that I own, especially when it comes to hair products. I do have to say that I have done a little better than the last month. I have made some more progress on a few items. There are no new products that I finished.

To review, I have finished the Vaseline Spray & Go in cocoa radiant and the Garnier Blackhead Eliminating Scrub.

img_1960I’m almost done with the Aussie Sprunch Spray, NYX butter gloss in  creme brulee, Blistex Silk n Shine lip balm, Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub in Tropical Mango, and the Smashbox eyeliner in Onyx.

img_1961The rest of the items, will hopefully be done by the end of the year. I have made a little progress on the Marc Jacobs perfume and it’s a 10 leave in conditioner. The Buxom lip gloss, I have used easily 10 times in the last month and there is hardly any progress. It looks as if I haven’t used it at all.

That is all for this update. I will hopefully have used up a few more items in my next update. The goal is to use up at least 10 of the 15 products by the end of the year. I am on a no buy as well til next year. Bring on the hauls in 2017! I hope you enjoyed this little update. Have a great day and see you in my next post!

Project Pan 2016

Hello lovelies! I got today’s post idea from Ashley Elizabeth on YouTube. I’ll link her channel down below. She doesn’t know me, she has no idea who I am and doesn’t know that I’m doing this post.  Disclaimer: I would say if you’re under the age of 18 some of her videos would be considered inappropriate for your viewing, and there is also some language that some may not appreciate. The one thing that I love about her is how she says whatever she is feeling and just doesn’t care what everyone else is saying or doing.

The idea of a Project Pan is to use what you have. These can be products that you’ve had for a couple of years or just sick of having around but don’t want them to go to waste. You choose at least 10 products, decide how many products you want to finish and set a time frame. For products that you may have a full container of, it may be a good idea to set a goal of getting through half of it. It’s also a good idea to mark where the product is at the very beginning.

I’ve decided to do this to get some use out of my products, and I’m finding myself wanting to purchase new items. I have a limited amount of space for everything and this is my way for creating space for new things. I’ve been on a no buy essentially the last few months but I haven’t exactly been using what I have. I’m going to continue my no buy through the next few months, with the exception of a few items that I will need. I do also receive the Sephora Play! box monthly, so those will also be new products that I will be receiving.

Since this is my first go at this Project Pan and I am giving myself a longer time frame than most people would probably choose. I’ve chosen 15 products to go through starting today August 5th, and I’m giving myself until December 5th to use up or hit pan on at least 10 products. I will give an update every month to track my progress. Most of these products I have had for about 2 years or longer. I know not the most sanitary but these things haven’t gone bad yet. I also realized that quite a few are hard to track how much is left and the rest I’ve marked.

Fall/Winter Empties Part 2

Hello lovelies! Part 2 of my fall and winter empties is made up of mostly beauty, hair, and skin/body care. Some of these items I used up completely and others are just so old that it was time to toss.

IMG_1193

First of all, I finally used up an Aussie Instant freeze hairspray. I won’t be repurchasing this. It left my hair crunchy and when I used it when I curled my hair the curl did not hold. Anyone have suggestions for a good lightweight hairspray that actually helps hold a curl?

Dr. Scholl’s for her Foot Softening Cream- I liked this but it had a weird scent. I had this for so long that I didn’t use it up. I won’t be repurchasing this any time soon. It help my dry feet but I feel like there is something better out there.

Soap and Glory Hand Food Cream- Love this! The scent reminds me of when you first walk into a Lush store. I love it! I will eventually repurchase this when I use up more lotions.

I went through 3 bottles of the One a day chocolate brownie bite vitamins. I have another bottle. I’ve been slacking on taking my daily vitamins and trying to get better at that.

TreeHut Body Scrub in Tropical Mango- I love this scent and it works and exfoliates well. This was my second small size of it and I repurchased the full size already.

Aveeno daily moisturizing lotion- I love Aveeno lotions. I find them to be great and moisturizing without leaving a film on the skin. I repurchased a different formula in a pump bottle.

Neutrogena eye makeup remover- This works well, doesn’t irritate my eyes, and I’ve already repurchased another bottle.

The Dove line of deodorants are amazing for day to day use. I really liked this go sleeveless formula. I have 2 other Dove deodorants that I’m currently using and plan on going back to this formula.

Klorane oat milk and Batiste dry shampoo- This is the second travel size of this that I’ve used up. This works well and doesn’t leave a cast on my hair. The Batiste dry shampoo, I like it but sometimes I feel that it just doesn’t work well with my hair. I’m trying to stay away from dry shampoos for now so I won’t be repurchasing either one of these.

The following three mascaras, I have one that I will eventually repurchase and two that I’m going to pass on. The one that I will definitely repurchase once I’m off of a mascara purchasing ban is the Clinique bottom lash mascara. I love, love, love this mascara!!! When I originally got this I didn’t use this all that much and unfortunately kind of wasted my money. I did use it quite a bit but it did get very old and should not put it near my eyes. The Ulta Amped Lashes, I liked this. It is an ok mascara but I won’t repurchase this. The staying power is ok, it does not last all day on my lashes. It is a pretty good everyday mascara. The NYC Showtime mascara, I did a first impression/review on this a long while ago. It’s not my favorite and I tried to use it up but I found that it irritated my eyes. This was one that I did not use up and definitely will not be repurchasing this.

I used up an entire bottle of the Nailtiques cuticle and nail treatment oil. I LOVE this!! I already repurchased another bottle of this. When I remember to use this, it practically gets rid of my dry cuticles, and saved them through the rough winter months.

I used up 2 sample of the fair trade foot lotion from Lush. Someone please remind me to go buy the full size of this. This completely helps my dry feet. The color of it reminds me of Pepto Bismal and the smell isn’t offensive but it is different.

Last but not least is a sample of the Dr. Jart BB Beauty Balm, kind of redundant I know. The shade of this is a tiny bit too dark for my skin, but I absolutely love this! My skin never looked so healthy in my life. I got 2 uses out of this little packet, which I was impressed by. This has an spf of 45 so I really want to try it out during the summer months and see how it holds up in the heat.

Well that is all that I have used up in the last 6-8 months. What I didn’t include was the five 3-wick Bath and Body Works candles that I have burned through. What have you been using up? What should I try out next? I hope you enjoyed this little adventure through my trash. Have a great day!
