Holiday Nail Options

beauty.life.loves

Hello lovelies! Today I’m sharing with you my options for the next couple of weeks. I’m no Van Gogh or anything and one of the items I used for the very first time, so it isn’t my best work. I dove into my nail polish collection and pulled out every shade that I would wear during this time of year. I wanted to give you as many options as I could and well… I came up with 10!

Natural Glam Holiday Look

Hello lovelies! Welcome back! Today I decided to share with you my natural and pretty simple to do holiday look. This is a great way to amp up your day to day look, and works for an office setting. I also think you can accomplish this look in less than 15 minutes! Yes, I said it! This look can be completed pretty quickly.

For my look, I used the Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation in 365C soft beige. I then did my brow with the Maybelline brow drama in deep brown. I then touched up a couple of bare spots with the E.L.F. brow pencil in neutral brown.

On my eyes I used Foxy all over the lid, and Bootycall on the inner third of the lid, from the Naked 2 palette. For liner, I used the Kat Von D ink liner in trooper. This and the lips probably took the most time for me. If you prefer a pencil liner use that. Use whatever you are comfortable with. Another option would be to wing out your liner. I attempted and it just wasn’t happening for me today. On my lashes I used the Urban Decay Perversion Bigger, Blacker, Badder mascara.

I used the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour blush in Dollface. I think this is the perfect wintertime blush shade. It may not look like it in the pan, but for me it is the perfect natural flush shade. For highlight I used Tarte’s Amazonian clay highlight in exposed highlight. I finished off the look with the Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink lip color in 20, Pioneer. This is the perfect red that anyone can pull off, and it makes your teeth look whiter!

That’s everything that I used for my natural holiday glam look. I hope you enjoyed this look. If you want to see me do other makeup looks let me know what you would like to see. Have a great Monday and I’ll see you in my next post.

Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm ~ Review

Hello lovelies! Today I’m sharing my thoughts on the Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm. I have used this on and off for the last few months. Anytime that I am wearing face and eye makeup I’ll use this. The claims to this product are:

  • breakdown and remove makeup and sunscreen
  • non-greasy
  • lightweight
  • doesn’t strip the skin
  • safe for use around eyes
  • fragrance free

I completely agree with all of the claims. I’ve used this quite a lot on my eyes. It does not sting my eyes. It will slightly fog up your vision if it get too close to your eyes. My eyes are extremely sensitive so it does bother them if that happens, but only for a moment. Any uncomfortable feeling is gone the second it is rinsed off.

In order to actually use this product, I like to start with a small amount about the size of a quarter to avoid using too much and going through it too quickly. If I need any more I will slowly add a pea size amount. I apply this to dry skin and spend about 1-2 minutes massaging my face and making sure that all of my face makeup has been broken up before I move to my eyes. After gently massaging my eye for another minute or two I rinse with warm water. There is no residue left behind on my skin, which is nice in a pinch. For example, I was way too tired and feeling especially lazy one night. I used this and went straight to bed. I did wake up with oilier skin than I normally do, but I didn’t find that to be a negative point.

I did find one somewhat downside to this product, which I don’t think is really a huge deal. If you don’t massage this all over your face long enough, it will not remove makeup or work as well as it can be. Take the time to really work it in and allow it to brake down the makeup on your face. It also won’t completely get rid of hard to remove waterproof mascara, but it will get rid of a good amount of it.

I would give the Clinique Take the Day off Cleansing Balm 9/10. I gave it a 9 because it really is a fantastic product but I feel like there is a tiny something missing. I will definitely repurchase this when I run out. I’ve used up about half the tub so far. I have used other methods for makeup removal and this so far has been the most gentle way so far.

That’s everything! I hope you enjoyed my review on Clinique’s Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm. I have plenty more product reviews coming. If there is anything that you want me to review please let me know. Thank you for coming back to read my posts. I hope you have a great weekend!

My Christmas Wish List 2017

Hello lovelies! Welcome back! Today I’m sharing with you the few items that are on my Christmas wish list. I know some of the items are not that glamorous, and actually most of it is stuff that I need. So let’s see what is on my list.

2.5 & 8 pound weights

water tumbler

coffee tumbler

bed sheets

Elizabeth & James Nirvana Bourbon perfume

shirts to work out in

sports bras

That’s everything on my list. I know it’s not very exciting but this year I’ve chosen to go with things that I really need rather want. Obviously I don’t need the perfume and that is something that I want. It’s funny how when we are kids all we want are toys and whatever the cool new things are, and now as adults we would prefer to get things that we actually need. I hope you have a great Thursday and I’ll see you in my next post.

Christmas Gift Guide for Him

Hello lovelies!! Here is the post that many of you requested. The gift guide for the lucky men in your lives. Just like my gift guide for the ladies, I will provide you with some general ideas that range in price ranges. For most of us, men in general are easy to buy for. They’re into sports, or a techie, or arsty, or the love being at home. Let me share with you what I think are same great gift ideas.

wine tour

bar ware

bath & body care

game tickets

sports gear

kitchenware

homeware

art mediums

video games

Apple products

cooking classes

dvds & blurays

tools

Those are my ideas to gift your men. If you know that they are looking for something more specific or you are really unsure as what to get them, giftcards are always a great idea. I personally think that giftcards or gift certificates are great gift ideas because while you know they like certain things they can go and pick out exactly what they like and be appreciative that you thought of them. That’s everything! If you’re still trying to figure out what to get the men in your life, feel free to send me an e-mail. I would love to help brainstorm gift ideas for you. Have a great day! I’ll see you in my next post.
